Mgr. et Mgr.  Lenka Formankova, Ph.D. is a principal researcher in the “Care arrangements and work-life reconciliation strategies of migrants in the Czech Republic” project.  She works at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in Gender & sociology department since 2008. Since 2018 is leading additional two projects Mongolian Community in the Czech Republic (2018-2020) and Role of Intimacy in the Czech Home Birth Controversy (2018-2020). She received degrees in comparative social policy and psychology. In her work, she focuses mainly on social and public policy analysis and gender analysis of work and family relations, migrant and transnational families. She co-authored books “Working paths of women in the Czech Republic” (Prague, 2011) and “One´s own way? Life course in a late modern society” (Prague, 2014). She participated in research satays in Germany (Hamburg University), Slovenia (University of Ljubljana) or Iceland (University in Reykjavik).  She has been an Appointed Expert in the Team of Advisors for Family policy at the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic.

 

PhDr. Alena Křížková, Ph.D. is Head of the Gender & Sociology Department of the Institute of Sociology, Czech Academy of Sciences. She received her Ph.D. in sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. In 2014 – 2015 she conducted Fulbright Fellowship at Arizona State University for comparative CZ – US research on entrepreneurship environment for disadvantaged populations and gender equality. She uses qualitative and quantitative methodology and develops the intersectional approach to research of social inequalities. Her research focus is on women´s economic independence, economic and social justice, work/life balance, gender in organisations and in entrepreneurship and on violence against women. She is the Czech country expert in the “Scientific analysis and advice on gender equality in the EU” (SAAGE) for the European Commission, a member of the Committee for Equal Representation of Women and Men in Decision-making Positions and in Politics of the Czech Government Commission for Equal Opportunities of Women and Men and a member of editorial board of the Gender and Research journal.

 

Mgr. Romana Marková Volejníčková, is a one of the researcher in the “Care arrangements and work-life reconciliation strategies of migrants in the Czech Republic” project.  She studied Gender studies, now she completing her Ph.D. She focuse on transformation of female and maternity roles in Czech society since the 50's to the present. She works at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in Gender & sociology department since 2013. In her work, she focuses mainly on topics as: gender inequalities in the labor market (gender pay gap, gender segregation of labor market) and/or work/life balance. She co-authored books „Solo for Soprano: About Women in Czech Politics“ (2016) or „Gender and Energy“ (2016).  She also taught courses about gender equality, history of feminism and/or sociology.

 

Mgr. Kristýna Pospíšilová is one of the researchers in the “Care arrangements and work-life reconciliation strategies of migrants in the Czech Republic” project. She obtained her Master's degree in sociology at Charles University in Prague in 2016. Currently she is studying Ph.D. studies there. She works as a junior researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Gender & sociology department sice 2014. Kristýna’s specialization lies in the field of quantitative analysis of social inequalities from the intersectional perspective, gender pay pag and the phenomenon of childlessness and one child families in the Czech Republic. She co-authored book: Current Gender Pay Gap in the Czech Republic, In-depth Statistical Analysis and International Comparison (2017). She specializes in quantitative data analysis and advanced statistical methods.

 

Mgr. Markéta Švarcová is the part of research team of the project called “Care arrangements and work-life reconciliation strategies of migrants in the Czech Republic”. She studied the field of Historical sociology at the Faculty of Humanities at the Charles University, where nowadays she is continuing the PhD. programme at the same programme. In the connection with her research she is focusing on the unequality in the pay between men and women from the qualitative perspective. She is working at the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in Gender & sociology department. She works as the head of project called Precarisation of self-emloyees which is focus on the problems of self-employed women.

 

Mgr. Marta Lopatková is a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the Institute of East Asian Studies at Charles University in Prague, Czechia. In her research she focuses on history, colonialism, intellectual and social life in French Indochina with an emphasis on gender studies and modernity. She also studies modern Vietnamese society and gender and equality issues. In 2009 she graduated in Vietnamese studies at Charles University and continued her Master´s program in Ethnology at the same university. She received her Master´s degree in 2012. During her the course of Bachelor´s, Master´s and Ph.D. programs she repeatedly received extended scholarships at Vietnam National University in Hanoi. Since 2017 is a member of a research team of the project  “Care arrangements and work-life reconciliation strategies of migrants in the Czech Republic” carried out at Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
